Movie: End of the Semester Extra Credit: Due January 6th

movie

*Directions*

Extra credit is due Thursday January 6th [NO EXCEPTIONS]

As an end of the semester incentive, I am offering you guys the opportunity to get extra credit for watching a movie. I spent a lot of time developing these lists and its long enough for you to find something you like, so please limit yourself to this list and nothing else.

  • You can watch only ONE movie; and the amount of Extra Credit awarded is up to 10 summative points.
  • Any part of the assignment that is plagiarized or copied off from someone else will result in no points awarded.
  • This is an individual assignment- you can watch the movie together, but the questions are done separately.

Step 1: Open the movie list – browse the list

YOU CAN ONLY PICK A MOVIE FROM THE UNITS WE HAVE COVERED IN FIRST SEMESTER.

You can only pick movies from the topic boxes that are shaded in gray.. no other movies will be allowed!

Danton (under French Revolution) movie link on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-b7Rtu-nuk&feature=youtu.be

The French Revolution – Part 1 – English subtitles (La Révolution française – Les Années Lumières) ) (link included for the movie- its free on YouTube). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SP4iii_THQ&feature=youtu.be

Step 2: Pick your choice

If it is a rated-R movie (written in brackets), please print the following permission slip, fill it out, and turn it in along with your movie analysis. If I don’t get a permission slip with the paper, you don’t get the extra credit.

Step 3: Watch the movie

Step 4:  Once you’ve watched it, download the “WH Movie Questions EC” worksheet:  WH-Movie-Questions-EC

    • Because of the generous amount of points being offered, I am going to be very picky in how I grade these. I expect very thorough responses to the questions I am asking.
  • Paper analysis:
    • MUST BE TYPED and PRINTED: I will not accept any hand-written analysis because it’s much harder to read, and takes much longer. So when you download the questions, type right into the document and then save it as your name otherwise all your work is lost, then print.
    • ANSWERS MUST BE A PARAGRAPH LONG PER OPEN-ENDED QUESTION (5-7 sentences)
