Week of March 26th

Reading: We will read The tiny seed; How a seed grows; I’m a seed; From seed to plant (mostly these are informational text so the purpose will be to inform).

Comprehension: Author’s purpose- P.I.E: Persuade, Inform, Entertain

Phonemic Awareness: R-blends (cr-, pr-, fr-, dr-)

Spelling/sight word/word family: when, ten, men, pen, hen, yes, no

Note: Spelling Test will be on Thursday

Writing: Opinion- Which Dr. Seuss was your favorite? Students must state the book they like the most and reasons why. Sentence stems:

My favorite book was___. I like the part when ___.

Math: More number bonds/part-part-whole. Students will continue to build and create number bonds in many ways and use multiple manipulatives such as unifix/linking cubes, objects, pictures, fingers, numbers and base ten blocks to complete number sentences. We are reviewing  composing and decomposing within 6, 7, 8, 9.  This will help with completing missing addends coming soon.

Science: Students will learn about-Living and non-living things, Plant needs to survive (soil, air, water, space, sun) and plant parts (roots, stem, leaf, petals, seeds).

REMINDERS:

  • No school Friday, March 30-April 8-Spring break
