Strategy focus: We will be sequencing and retelling using First, Next and Last.

Spelling: down, little, we, cap, gap, nap, lap, tap, *flap

Writing: We are continuing to write informational pieces this week. Our focus will be sequential writing. Last week we wrote an informational piece with the focus on description. This week we will focus on the transition words: first, next, then and last. We will start our writing just focusing on trees and then individually write about a plant choice. Be on the look out how trees will be written and talk about a plant (vegetable, fruit or flower) that your child would like to write about.

Math: We will revisit geometry this week. We will discuss all things regarding geometric shapes. This includes:

  • 2-d, 3-d shapes naming them (square, cube etc.)
  • count how many: faces, vertices, corners, sides, edges
  • building bigger shapes using shapes you have (ie. 2 triangles can make a square)
  • building shapes using play dough and toothpicks

Math TEST THIS WEEK!!!!!!

Science: We will be discussing what living and non-living means. Living things: breathe, sleep, eat, grow etc. Non-living things do not. The students will watch a movie, sort and listen to many stories that will aide them through this process. The students will also plant their very own seed and document its growth!!!!

Enjoy your weekend!
