Science and Social Studies: We will discuss and review content of Earth Day. We have explored air pollution, the 3 R’s (recycle, reduce, reuse), and the importance of Trees. Here are some key points to review at home:
- Trees are homes for animals.
- Trees give us food.
- Trees give us oxygen. (what we breathe in)
- We give trees Carbon Dioxide. (what they breathe in)
- Items we recycle: paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, cans, newspaper etc..
We are also tracking our plants that are growing. We are documenting their growth in our science journals. We are making sure they receive proper sunlight and enough water.
Reminders:
- Earth Day is Friday, April 22. Please send in soda pop cans or bottles to help grow flowers in front of our school.
- Please make sure your child is dressed appropriate for the weather. It is easier to have layers than to not go out to play because your child is not wearing warm enough clothes.
- Make sure you are still reading 20 minutes daily.
- Send in snacks to share if you can!
- Check in with SeeSaw and see your child’s work. You can like their work and comment. Thanks to Celine’s mom for being the first parent commenting on her daughters work. She was thrilled her mom responded immediately to her post!! Your child will be looking forward to your engagement in their learning!
Have a great weekend!
