Reading We will investigate Polar Bears. We will identify
the main idea and details about this topic read. We will also
identify author’s purpose to inform.
Writing We are learning about informational writing. We will
write about a polar bear. We will use a story as guide to collect
information/evidence. The sentence stem will be: A polar bear
is a mammal. It has . It can.
Language Arts Blends and digraphs: wh- (what, whale,
when, why, where, white, etc)Phonemic Awareness: rhymes,
short u medial sound of cvc words, Spelling words: I, can,
see, cat, mat, hat.
Review sight words: have, you,said, this, on, up, dog, little, here
Math We will be counting numbers 0-75. We will continue to
practice count by 5’s to 100. We will learn about number bonds.
We will learn to compose and decompose numbers sets within
10 using number bonds, pictures, and number sentences.
Social Studies We will learn about a timeline. Your child
will need to identify milestones in their lives. When they were
born? What happened when they were 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 years old. We
will plot it on a timeline to present.
Science We will continue to learn about tracking weather
conditions. We will investigate severe weather conditions such
as: hurricane, tornado, tsunami and flooding.
Reminders:
Please dress your child appropriately for the weather. It is getting colder and it is easier to remove layers.
