Can you believe it we have 7 weeks of school left!!!!

We are wrapping this unit about Amazing Creatures with…..DINOSAURS!!!

Reading: We will reading If Dinos came back; How dinosaurs say I’m mad; The dinosaur that lived in my backyard; Dino Facts; Feet First; Tyler’s trip to the library; When water came to visit.

Strategies to focus on during your reading/listening: 

• KWL: What do you know about the topic; What are you wondering about the topic; What have you learned about the topic
• Elements of a story-focus on character, setting, authors purpose and favorite part (reflection)

Math: We will be review basic addition and subtraction within 10 using a number line, a number chart and story problems

Social Studies: we are learning about the past with dinosaurs. Focus on vocabulary such as extinct, fossils, archaeologist, paleontologist. We will create a project and discuss theories of what happened to dinosaurs.

REMINDERS: 

• We are still collecting cans and bottles to make our flower garden in front of the school
• We will be sending home permission slips later this week to go on a field trip…more info with details to come.
• Howard School Clean up Parade scheduled: Tuesday, May 9th at 1:30.
• Mother’s Day Celebration: Friday, May 12th at 8:50-9:10
