Week 2: Unit 6: Neighborhoods
Reading: This week we will continue learning all about a neighborhood and community helpers. We will read Bus Stops; The park; Ms. Mouse needs a friend; Acrefoot the Mailman

Writing: We will be writing a narrative. We will be working on writing sentences to our speech balloon characters we created last week. We will discuss the importance of using quotation marks when a character speaks. The sentence will look like: “Meow!” said the cat.
Math: We will explore the dime. We will discuss its value and count by 10’s. We will also exchange the dime with nickels and pennies. We will try to count the amount of coins and write its value in cents.
Social Studies: We will continue to explore types of maps. We will explore parts of our neighborhood and create group neighborhood maps. We will explore a compose rose. We will learn that we are tiny things in this giant world. Specifically, we will continue working on the project flip book that will state:
