4th Semester Updates

Good Evening!
Dear Families,
We are now entering into the 4th semester of our second grade learning and this marking period will be based on our remote learning at home. We have spent many weeks getting used to at home learning and exploring interesting websites. We have set goals and you have been trying so hard and working with your students to make sure that they are ready for third grade. I hope that your students are enjoying their learning and I just want to say that you are doing a great job!
This week we are given new requirements from our administrators, but you will notice that you have been doing most of these things already. The only difference now is that these assignments will be graded each week and you will be given a grade for the fourth marking period based on these grades.
These grades will be recorded as Meeting-doing all of the assigned work, Progressing-doing most of the assignments, and Limited participation-rarely or not doing any of the assignments.
The assignments will be very specific and I will be checking to be sure that minutes that are posted are the minutes that you are on IReady, RazKIds or Zearn.
There will be one writing lesson per week that will be due each Friday, and there will be 2-3 math lessons per week that will need to be completed. I do expect all of the lessons on the schedule to be completed by the end of each week. It will be too hard to catch up on lessons from week to week. There are enrichment activities that your child may complete but I will only be grading lessons based on the scheduled assignments each week. I will be available each week day from 11-2 to answer any specific questions through email or Class Dojo messages. We will be having class meetings on Google Hangout which is very similar to the meetings we have already had on Zoom each Friday from 11:00-11:30! I hope that this will be an easy transition as the students have already been practicing remote learning at home the last few weeks. Please let me know if you have any questions and I know that we will work together to make the last semester of second grade one of learning together!
Thank you so very much for your help, patience and hard work during this time. I have the best class:)
Thanks so much!
Mrs. P.
