Hello there! This year is really flying by! Here are your updates for the week!
Language Arts–we are writing to express our opinions on topics. We are working on putting space between words, ending sentences with a period and using sight words/beginning sounds to label and write. This week’s letters are Pp and Ee and the sight word is “my”. Reading bags should be coming home every night. Have your child read thru their sight word/letter cards as well as read 1-2 books from the bag.
Math–this week’s lessons are 29-32. We are getting close to finishing Module 1 of this year’s math. I will begin assessments for this unit next week. Skills include counting objects in a group, writing numbers 0-10 and recognizing how objects are the same and not exactly the same (i.e. different size, different pattern, etc.). Please practice counting to 100 every night as that’s a BIG goal for Kindergarten students. Some students are working on counting to 200 already!
Social Studies–we are working on setting our Leader in Me goals and talking with our accountability partners on how we can achieve them. We are also finishing up some All About Me books.
Science–still working hard on our forces/pushes and pulls unit
Picture retakes will be on October 29th.
Letter about our Halloween party is coming home this week! Can’t wait to see the costumes and have some fun!
Thanks! Have a great week!
