First Day Success/ Other Reminders!

Hello again:) We had a successful first day in Kindergarten Land! I wanted to touch base with all of you and give out a few reminders…

1. Please look through your child’s back pack tonight and read through all the important information. Please return all required paperwork to me no later than Thursday, August 29th. Thank you for your cooperation!
2. Make sure all school supplies are turned in at the end of the week as well:) A list of supplies is in the parent packet!
3. I noticed a lot of students do not have a set of emergency clothes. Please make sure to bring in a set of clothes, inside a gallon zip lock bag, with your child’s name labeled on the bag and clothes! The extra clothes will help clean up any accidents your child may have in the classroom, in a timely manner:)
4. We have snack time everyday! Please make sure to provide your child with a healthy snack and reusable water bottle each day. Also, please pack your child’s snack SEPARATE from their lunch. You may put the snack in a different compartment in their lunch box, or pack their snack in a zip lock baggie and place in their backpack. Many students get confused as to what is their snack, or what is their lunch, so by talking with your child about the difference, this will help them understand what they should be eating in the classroom for snack and what they should save for lunch. Thank you!
5. Your child will be coming home with their “Everyday Folder” tomorrow. Please make sure to always look through your child’s folder each night and empty out their folder on the side that says “Keep at home.” All work completed in class must stay home and not returned the next day. This keeps for an organized folder and keeps everyone on the same page:) This folder is expected to come to school everyday and back home. Thank you!
6. Our special schedule will be coming out shortly. Please keep your eye out for what days your child has gym class, etc.
7. This week, Kindergarten has half days of school. Please make sure to pick your child up promptly at 11:40 a.m. each day!
8. Next week lunch starts! This is a VERY BIG deal in Kindergarten land! If your child is getting a school lunch, they MUST know what option choice they are getting (option 1, 2 or 3). Please make sure to go over the lunch calendar with your child and discuss what option they will be eating. They need to be able to communicate their choice with their teacher when arriving to the classroom in the morning:). Thank you!
9. I am still learning the wonderful faces of Room 42. Please be patient with me, especially at dismissal, when I am releasing your child to you. I have 23 parent faces to remember multiply that by grandparents, older siblings, etc. I promise I will get to know your face…it just takes some time<3 Thank you for your understanding.
