Tomorrow the first graders will take the first portion of the NWEA math test. The children will have two forty minute sessions to complete all 47 questions. The test will be read to them through headphones and they will need to choose the best answer to the questions. I will encourage them to take their time and listen carefully to the questions asked. I suggested to the children that they should listen to the question three times before choosing their best answer. Too often they rush and quickly select an answer before solving it on their dry erase boards.
Please make sure your child gets a good night’s rest tonight and wakes up with a big, healthy breakfast to get their brains going in the morning! Please stress the importance of these tests to your child and encourage them to take their time, listen to the questions and do their best.
