DETROIT ZOO!
OCTOBER 4, 2016

Today, you should have found a packet of information pertaining to our first field trip of the year! The first graders are extremely excited to visit the Detroit Zoo on Friday, October 21st.
Here are some quick notes about the trip:
- The cost is $5 per person – this is the price for students AND adults
- If you are interested in chaperoning, you are responsible for driving yourself (and possibly your child, depending on the size of the bus we get). Unfortunately, this means you are responsible for the cost of parking, which is $6/car. Please send the $6 parking fee with your ticket money (in the attached envelope).
- If you would like to chaperone, please make sure you stop by the office to complete a background check. If you do not have a background check completed by the date of our trip, you will not be allowed to chaperone 🙁
- The bus will be leaving between 8:50 and 9am. We will be returning to school around 2:30.
- Please bring a disposable lunch. We don’t want the kids to be responsible for carrying their lunch bag all day around the zoo. It’s easiest when they can throw everything away when they are done.
- If you are a zoo member, you do not have to pay the $5 ticket fee, however, you do have to be there in order to get that benefit (example: you cannot give your zoo membership card to your child and assume they will get in for free – they won’t). So if you are a zoo member, but you cannot make the trip, you still need to send in the $5 ticket fee.
I think I covered it all, but please read the informational sheet I sent home today as well to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
***PERMISSION SLIPS AND MONEY IS DUE NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 12TH*** (You can turn in your student’s permission slip and money in the envelope that was attached to the field trip packet).
I have to buy the tickets a week in advance, we cannot buy tickets at the gate, so I have to have a final head count and all money turned in to the zoo by the 12th.
Thanks for your help and cooperation! As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask 🙂
