Ok my lovely students, here are some directions on how to do double sided Book and Brain notes.
Book side: Summary of events and important ideas
Brain side: All the things you would usually have as annotation: Thoughts, questions, reactions, connections, etc
Here is the first page of my notes as an example:

Write up your final, formal argument whether or not Rainsford is guilty of murder. It should be at least one MLA typed page in length, with appropriate paragraphs as needed.
Claim: The first sentence should be a clear statement of your position. It does not have to be the one you debated.
Evidence: Use details from the story and the debate to help make your argument. At least 2 direct quotes are required.
Reasoning: Explain why the evidence you are using supports your claim.
If your reasoning is flawed or unclear, you will not be given points for that section. You should have multiple arguments, and you may include counter arguments.

The primary communication for this class will be through Remind, a helpful messaging app. The code to join my Remind group for MANUFACTURING students is @38397g. The code for HEALTH students is @healthla9.
All students are expected to join Khan Academy and add me as a coach. We will be doing assignments through Khan Academy both in class and outside of class. To start Khan Academy, go to khanacademy.org. Join with your school google account (@dearbornschools.org). Find the “Coaches” tab near the middle of your screen. Click on it, then go to “ADD COACH.” Enter the code CWW8HF. Assignments should pop up as notifications. You have 4 assignments due by 7:35am Friday.
If the assignment does not come up as a notification, you can access your assignments in the “Learning Home” tab under your username. Assignments will not show up for students until after they become a part of my class, AND I assign them individually. You can also access the assignment by clicking on my name as your coach and going to the “Assignments” tab.
Your All About Me essay is due by Friday. Please remember that you MUST share the document with me through google docs for credit.
50 points will be given for content
20 points for formatting
20 points for style (flow, paragraph structure, voice, etc)
10 points for grammar and spelling
Congratulations on the unexpected 4 day weekend! A few notes for our return on Monday:
ALL work that was due Thursday is, of course, now due Monday. No excuses!
Any persuasive essays that were turned in this week will be returned Monday as well. Remember: final submission date is the 24th!!
Think about themes in Romeo and Juliet to prepare for Monday.
