Wayne County Regional Enhancement Education Millage Proposal

School districts in Wayne County have placed a proposal on the November 8th ballot to provide added funding for our schools. It is the “Regional Enhancement Millage Proposal.”

If approved by the entire county, the 2 mil proposal will generate approximately $6.2 million from Dearborn but the District will receive $7.8 million in additional funding for our schools.  Money would go to local schools starting this year and the millage expires after six years.  Read more

End of the Card Marking

Tomorrow, 11/4 is the end of the card marking! This semester has flown by!

A few reminders:

  • Even though tomorrow is “just a half day” there will be a lot going on! It is very important that your child attends school tomorrow.
  • Students will not be able to make up work missed tomorrow on Monday.
  • Tomorrow is the last day of the marking period. Grades & report cards will be entered started at 12 PM tomorrow (after the students leave).
  • Science test on the states of matter is tomorrow. Study guide sent home Wednesday.
  • Math test on Unit 2, place value & line plots is tomorrow. Study guide sent home week of 10/17 and again tonight.
  • Writing notebooks with 16 pages of writing are due tomorrow. (Students have been working for 2.5 hours per week in class on their writing. This should be done already and only those who haven’t been on task will need to finish their 16 pages tonight).
  • Spelling test on Long e.
  • Regular spelling word word is due tomorrow.

I know it seems like “a lot,” but we’ve been working day by day to accomplish all of these items. I have every confidence that students are going to do well if they try their best!

We’d love to have some special treats to celebrate the end of the card marking. If you’d like to donate or bring a snack for the class, please comment below! Fruits & Veggies are always a hit! We all love hummus too!

Mrs. Brady

Monday 10/31 is Halloween

4th graders & families!

Monday is Halloween! We will be participating in the all school parade at 2 pm. If you would like, students may wear or bring your costume to school on Monday. No gory (bloody, dismembered, zombie, scary) costumes, and no clown costumes.

It would be great to have some healthy snacks provided for students to enjoy in the afternoon. If you’d like to bring a vegetable tray or fruit tray please comment below! 1 of each would be awesome! We would also need plates to serve the snacks on.

Our class has earned a project reward for good behavior. Students will be painting on Monday, so you might want to send an extra shirt so your child doesn’t ruin their costumes.

Thank you in advance for your donations! Snacks should be at school by 1 PM please 🙂

Students will not be permitted to call home for costumes or missing costume pieces on Monday.

Have a great weekend!
