Pizza Party Thursday 2-11

Our class has earned a pizza party!

We will be ordering cheese & halal pepperoni pizza tomorrow afternoon. This will NOT be in place of lunch.

> Students should bring $2 to cover the cost of pizza.

> Students may bring a drink (NO pop) if they like for themselves

Thank you to all the families that messaged me on Class Dojo with pizza place suggestions!

Send A Sip To Our Friends in Flint!

As you probably have heard the outpouring of support for the citizens of Flint is overwhelming. Along with thousands of cases of water being donated by individuals and organizations,  the Federal government has offered an additional $80 million in funding on top of the $20 million already pledged. Cases of water are being collected by Dearborn Public Schools, cases only, no loose bottles.

The State of Michigan has set up a website for the residents of Flint and those wishing to help. (https://www.helpforflint.com) also see the attached flyer:  Water Drive

Spelling Packet for week of 1/25-1/29

We are reviewing 40 spelling words from this semester this week. These are all words we have done in past weeks. Spelling words are listed under the “Weekly Spelling Words” tab.

3 spelling assignments are due this week. Students will have time in class to work on this. However, it should be worked on at home as well.

  1. List of 40 sight words written out neatly
  2. 40 definitions in numeric order– must use a dictionary, students can not make up definitions, must underline the spelling word. Due: Thursday 1/28
  3. 40 sentences in numeric order– must underline the spelling word in the sentence. Due: Friday 1/29

Students started these assignments in class today, 1/25/16. They had 20-40+ minutes to work on this assignment depending on if they chose to do it for Daily 5. Each student should have 3 pieces of paper stapled together to complete these assignments.

Keep an eye out for “Re-do” & Daily Folders

4th grade families & students-

Please keep an eye out for the words “re-do” on your assignments. If “re-do” is written on your assignment, you have an opportunity to improve your grade! For example if you received 5/10 on your spelling definitions, I will comment & write “re-do” on your paper. Take the work home, correct what needs to be fixed, and turn it in again for a new (better) grade!

I want everyone to get the best grades they can, and I hope you take the opportunity to fix your grade when given the chance.

Families, please make sure you are checking your students Daily Folder & removing any unneeded papers. Leaving papers in the daily folders makes them messy and hard to keep track of current work or assignments.
