We have a busy week ahead!
Math: Continuing our Unit on Base Ten, addition & subtracting with and without borrowing. Learning how to read and create a line plot. We will be taking our Math Assessment this week.
THANK YOU for the dice & playing card donations! Math centers are even more fun now!
Daily 5: Building our reading stamina. Continuing to Work on Writing, Read to Self, Read to Someone and practicing our Spelling Words during Word Work.
Writing: Finishing our opinion writing unit. Starting our informational unit with a focus on writing about U.S. Regions.
Science: Lots of fun hands on science this week! We are in need of many donations to help make our science experiments successful!
Social Studies: Wrapping up our Regions unit. We will be taking our common assessment this week.
> Students will show the ability to divide the U.S. into regions and explain why.
> Students will show the ability to identify which direction to travel when leaving from Michigan and going to a given location. Example: Which direction do you travel from Michigan to Alaska?
Spelling: Multisyllabic words – Long Vowels (i)

Monday: Picture Day!!! Students should dress for picture day & P.E. or bring a change of clothes for P.E. Students have a kicking test in P.E. on Monday.
Friday: Spelling Test (students must have 5 word work activities turned in to take their spelling test)
Halloween parade– students may bring costumes to change into after lunch at 2 PM. No bloody costumes and no weapons.

Donations needed:
– 4 boxes of cornstarch for Science experiments starting Tuesday
– 1 package of food coloring for Science experiments starting Tuesday
– 1 small/medium container of vinegar for Science experiments starting Tuesday
– 4 boxes of baking soda for Science experiments starting Tuesday
– 1 box of borax power for Science experiments starting Tuesday
– 30 paper plates for Science. Must be paper plates, not Styrofoam.
– candy or pre-packaged treats (bagged pretzels, bagged Goldfish, fruit snacks, bagged Chez-Its) for Halloween on Friday
– 7 pumpkins for Science starting on Tuesday
No donations are required. Your contributions help make our classroom a fun place to learn!

I have borax I think I will bring some.but if I cant then
will bring baking soda or vinegar
