Student Product Packages!

Here are some wonderful Product and Packaging ideas from our 7th graders. They were to devise an original product of their liking and come up with a package that has a logo, a slogan, and various design elements that will make the product “sellable”. They then tried to “sell” their project to the class like the TV show Shark Tank. Here are the great results.

Louise Nevelson Assemblages

Louise Nevelson is a 20th century sculptor from New York by way of Russia. She took garbage from the New York streets and took it home to create her assemblages. The were generally large and made of wood. We created smaller versions of her work with recyclables from around the school. The last step once assembled, was to paint them one solid color to unify all of the “trash”. They did a great job!

Landscape Paintings

Students did a great job recreating their photos into a 12 x 18 painting. The first step was getting the drawing right. We used the grid system to redraw it accurately. From there, we learned to mix colors correctly and tried to match up the values to the photo as best they could. Nice job! Some of these will be in the city wide art show in April.

Ceramic Cups

Students were able to show off their skills by creating some usable mugs. They had to create items to stick onto the mug in addition to carving things into it for full credit. The last step for finishing is adding the glaze, which coats the mug with glass, making it fully usable.
