School Closing Blog Week #2

Hi all –

I hope everyone is adjusting well to the current situation and staying healthy. If it all seems like no one knows how to handle everything that is happening, that is the complete truth! Even us “old” folks have never lived through a situation quite like this. Relax, take a deep breath, and know that this will pass. Faster, if everyone adheres to the protocols.

I know you all have a TON of materials that are being added to your classes. Keep working and don’t put it off. I will continue to add things to the Google Classrooms for each class. Keep an eye on those.

E2020 Classes: You can do all of the course work except the Final. That will be dealt with at a later time. Several of you are now finished with everything but that. A few of you haven’t continued working. I highly recommend you do so.

Piano Class: I am still working at finding you useful content that isn’t just entertainment. If you have a keyboard, continue to practice, if not; we will figure something out. I haven’t found any “virtual” keyboard things that will help us out. You can continue to study the note names and terminology that will be on your Final, as well as listening to some really fine recordings of artists. I will be adding a YouTube channel with some suggestions. More to come later.

Theatre Classes: We will meet via Zoom Meeting today at 2:00 pm to talk about how we can move forward with your scenes. Check your student email for the link. This will be as brief as possible – just to get things set up and move forward. There will also be a YouTube channel for you to view.

Choir: Exciting project coming up. I will be gathering the information and sending that info out today. I think it will be fun.
