For the last three days, students have been working in pairs to analyze the creation of the Constitution. The packet is due tomorrow. Unfortunately, some of you decided to socialize more than you should, make sure that you are finished and ready to discuss. The text for Ch. 8 has been posted on Google Classroom if you did not get it finished in class.

The Vocabulary quiz for Ch. 8 is also tomorrow. Hopefully, you have been studying your Quizlet as we have reviewed in class.

Hello,

Today we finished NWEA testing in class. Students who did not finish will be pulled during the 4th hour this week to complete.

Once students finished testing they worked on the Ch. 8 Vocabulary. Students need to match vocabulary to definitions, then create a Quizlet or flashcards to study.

A quiz on the vocabulary will be this Friday.

Welcome to the first week of the 2nd Semester. To kick of the semester with a bang we had two half days and then NWEA tested on Thursday and Friday.

We just finished discussing the Articles of Confederation and Shays’s Rebellion. Both of which are going to expose the weaknesses of having a weak central government. This will force the new Congress to create a whole new constitution, The Constitution!

We will begin looking at how the Constitution was created and some of the many debates that occurred during the process next week.

I have posted a short quiz on the Articles and Shays’ Rebellion on google classroom. You have until Monday night to complete it.

So, today we looked at the Articles of Confederation and discussed what they established for the government and why there failed terribly.

Tomorrow we will begin looking at how the country will start to create a new Constitution.

A reminder that tomorrow is the last day for late work.

Today we looked at the strengths and weaknesses of the Continental Army (Colonists) and the British Army. You can find the assignment along with Ch. 7 text on Google Classroom.

Retake is Thursday after school, late work is due Friday.

Some of you still haven’t turned in your essays on Investigation 2, Executive Orders. It will be a zero once I enter the scores if you don’t get it turned in.

I hope everyone had a great break, Christmas and New Year’s.

Just a reminder for those looking to retake the test that it is after school. You need to make corrections to the original test by writing the correct answer and explaining why the original answer was incorrect. Just writing the correct letter for multiple choice doesn’t count. Those corrections then need to be signed by a parent.

Anyone not having corrections signed by a parent will not be allowed to retake the test.
