Learning Lab Information

Hello,

Below you will find directions on the practices we will be observing during Learning Labs here at Bryant. I’m sure some of you have been contacted by other teachers regarding labs, I will be contacting parents once we are finished NWEA testing, hopefully tomorrow, to invite students to Learning Labs for Monday.

I know that many of you want your child to receive face to face instruction. If your student needs assistance, please have them email me and we can schedule a Zoom meeting during Asynchronous time.

If online meetings during Asynchronous time prove not to be, have them contact me and I will see about adding them to the schedule. Please remember that spots and times are limited and emailing me and joining me on Zoom are the fastest way to get help. Please encourage your students to advocate for themselves and contact me if they need anything.

The Library is Now Open

Bryant’s Library is now open for Limited Service. Here is a message from Mrs. Wilcox, the school’s librarian.

We are excited to start to offer curbside library service to Bryant students on Tuesdays and Wednesday from 1-2:30pm at the library window. We’d pass the book out to students through the window, just like a fast food drive thru window. We will have a sign either on the window or in front of the window to show students where to go. Students would need to have no overdues or fines currently, and would need to place the book on hold using our online library catalog. Here is a video of:

How to Place a Book on Hold at Bryant Media Centerhttps://youtu.be/htT8g5y8p1U

Once a student places the hold, we will get the book, then email the student to let him/her know the book is ready to pick up. Ms. Gaye Shreve will be at the window to receive books and hand out books on hold each Tuesday and Wednesday from 1-2:30pm. **Students will need to hear from us before coming to get a book. **Any student with overdue books can turn them in at this time as well.**FYI – the library has a driveway behind it and a very colorful mural along the driveway wall – the library windows would be visible from there.

Thank you so much for your help in spreading the word,

Janine and Gaye

Asynchronous Learning

Hello,

This week we have been NWEA testing. During Asynchronous time I have asked students to join me so that we can finish the NWEA as quickly as possible and take up as little Synchronous time as we can.

Some students have not shown up the last two days during this Asynchronous time and that is going to put us behind and push testing into next week if everyone doesn’t show up today and tomorrow during Asynchronous. Please make sure you are there and on time. I am including a simplified schedule to help you determine when you should be on Zoom with me for testing.

Today, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd hours will be Asynchronous testing. Please show up and be on time. Tomorrow 5th and 6th hours will be testing during Asynchronous time.

Thank you.

Syllabus and other forms

Hello,

So as we start the year off, we are slowly getting into the swing of things. This past week your student should have gone over both the Plagiarism Form and the Class Syllabus. They then needed to complete assignments showing that they went over those things with you.

I am attaching those documents below for anyone who would like them. The syllabus goes over goals for the class and some basic classroom policies. I expect that as the weeks go on there will be additional classroom policies created to address various online circumstances. I will be posting those in Schoology for everyone to access. I know that parent access is not yet available, but hopefully it will be soon.

Regarding asynchronous work, students should always have something to work on, either assignments or, if all work is completed, they should be reading for at least 20 minutes every day.

As the year goes on please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns that you have.
