Monday, September 16: Today was the start of our second unit, Rigid Transformations, so we recapped the 4 types of transformations and focused on Reflections, Translations, and Rotations. We also looked into how we could possibly use these to help solve real-world problems. We did SAS 1 and the first page os SAS 2, covering the Overview and beginning of our first Exploring.
Anyone who missed Friday’s quiz needs to make it up either before or after school tomorrow in Moylan’s room. Plan for 15-20 minutes to take the quiz.
Tuesday, September 17: Today was a chance to finish our first exploring of the topic, finding out how reflections and translations can be related to one another. Students who missed last week’s quiz came by to make it up.
Wednesday, September 18: We powered on through the second exploring section of our Rigid Transformations topic, folding more patty paper to see how we can use reflections to create rotations of a figure.
Thursday, September 19: We spent a good deal of the hour today talking about last week’s assessment, going over each question and the possible struggles/confusions related to them. We then also got a small packet to fill out so that we could review our rigid transformations.
Friday, September 20: 1/2 day, only going to hours 1-3 today, plan accordingly! Students in first and second hour went right to the auditorium to listen to our guest speaker’s presentation!
