We do not have school on Monday for those who are celebrating I hope you have a happy EID. We will start spelling next week we will start slow in the list will be filled out in class on Tuesday.  In writing we will continue our personal narrative is on what we did over the summer and where our shoes went. Finally in social studies we will start learning about the regions of the country. I hope you have a great long weekend I love teaching your children and please remember to turn in your emergency cards. Also, talk with your children about staying on task and working Quietly. In Conclusion

As I finish cleaning up my room for the year, I cannot help but get sentimental. I’m not only packing up files, books and supplies… but memories. An “I love you” card hear, a picture there, personalized art work, trinkets and gifts that are attached to great memories from great kids. I want to personally thank each and everyone of you for your unconditional support and kindness! This was such a successful year both professionally and personally. I have made  many positive connections and hope everyone has a restful summer with their families.

Again, thank you for allowing me to teach your children this year. They are beyond blessed to have loving and caring parents! Until next time,

Mrs. M

picnic update

Due to the weather, we will delay our arrival time to Levagood Park. We have activities planned for the morning. The plan for this morning is to have the picnic in our classrooms at 11:00 AM.  We will tentatively leave for the park at 11:45 (again, depending on the weather).  Please stay tuned to our school news blog for further updates.  Thank you for your flexibility with changes due to the weather.

End of Year Picnic Chaperones/Drivers

Hi again:) One more addition to this already very long email. The kids must report to school at 8:35 am. Please have suntan lotion on them already, but send it so that they can reapply at the park.

Parents, please report to the office at 9:15 am, check in and then wait in the lobby. Ms. Cathy will announce our class’ chaperones and at that time you may walk to my hallway. Please stay outside and as I check you in, I will send the kids out to you. As you can understand what has happened in Orlando, we are taking extra precautions with student’s safety and security tomorrow.

Once you have your group, please drive safely and meet us at the picnic area.  Set up your belongings, remember a chair for the picnic area:) Please remember to watch your children at the park and keep eyes on them at all times. Balls should not be thrown or kicked in the picnic area. It is a huge park, and you are free to roam around at will, but an adult must be with the kids at all times.

Lunch will be served aprox. 11:00. After lunch, we will go to the pool area around 12:00.

After the trip is over (aprox. 2:30/3:00) you may sign your child out from the pool unless you have driven another child. ONE Sign out Binder for the entire school will be available at the pool area. If you drove another student, then you must return that child to DuVall and sign out your child at that time.

Any questions, please contact the office regarding rain. We do have a “Plan B” for rain which involves a Movie in the gym (and a lot of food lol). Crossing fingers for a beautiful day because the kids are looking forward to it.

Below is a list of drivers and kids in your groups. Call the school today if there are concerns. Thank you so much again!

We have been advised by the City of Dearborn to make sure we have no additional children that are not DuVall students or younger than kindergarten to come to the pool due to safety liability.  They will have a staff member at the gate to make sure and will not allow parents to come in with younger children.  Please be aware that you can come to the picnic but will not be able to enter the pool area.
