Happy Sunday. I hope this finds you all happy, healthy and well. Next week we will have remote learning Monday through Thursday. All assignments will be due on Thursday since there is no school Friday or Monday for Memorial Day’s Holiday Vacation.

Note: 2nd grade families, the videos I am posting are restricted in the kid’s settings for google classroom. Simply copy and paste the url into your settings and they should be able to view them. I have contacted the media specialist regarding the issues, he is still working on it, thank you for your patience.

Note: 3rd graders are skipping ahead to module 7. see google classroom for details:)

Note: only 1 Social Studies lesson this week for everyone. Only 1 Science lesson and assignment for everyone, Please make sure to watch all videos because they give more details to assignments in Social St.

Thank you for the wonderful pictures and posters for Teacher Appreciation week. The video that the PTA put together made me realize how lucky I am to have a group of kids I truly care for. In the 18 years of teaching, this is especially difficult for me to be separated from my class because this was one of my favorite groups ever. Your children are special, they are hard workers and kind. This is a direct testimony of the wonderful parents you are. Happy Mother’s Day Moms! You are all incredible and deserve the moon today, I know first hand how difficult it is to raise a household, work full time and homeschool. So, please enjoy your babies today.

This week, all assignments and directions for each assignment are in google classroom classes. Please, check each one with your child daily. They are too young to do this by themselves. Again, do Social Studies Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. Do Science Tuesday. Do Math every day. Please, read the google classroom directions in math because they give you the module and assignments for the week. watch the videos from knowledge on the go before you do the lesson. They walk you through each lesson. Don’t rush the reading assignment this week and check your child’s essay before turning it into me on Friday.

I’ve been making videos of myself reading Harry Potter and attaching them to the reading google classroom. I hope they are enjoying it!

Going forward this week…

Continue to use the google classroom videos from knowledge on the go, to help get you through the lessons. Please use your Math books from now on. Each lesson will have an application problem, problem set and an exit ticket. I am not worried about “homework” book, but if you want extra practice you can use it. The sprints are great little challenges you can also use to time yourself and beat your record. Give them 4 min. per sprint page. They are also not required during the week. quick Favor – Parents, please double check the kid’s “readwork’s” answers. They have the ability to listen to the articles and go back into the articles to find answers. They are not reading them, and they are submitting any old answer. I have reassigned those who turned in today. This is the only reading I am checking for a grade, so please make sure they are taking their time,

There will be no meeting again this week. I need to learn another format called Big Blue Button since we are not aloud to use zoom or google meet. Sorry. More information next week on future meetings.

Changes: 3rd Grade only submit your posters for your project. I will create a slide to share since there will be no google meeting. You will have new social studies assignments beginning Tuesday.

Math Books Pick up Tuesday, May 5th at 11:30! I will be volunteering at 11:30. Please come and get your books, it will make things so much easier.

DuVall Families,

I have gathered student math books and Language books for kids. I put them in bags and labeled them for each of you. Come to DuVall on Tuesday, May 5^th at 11:30. I will be volunteering at school to help get these distributed for each student.  Personal items that were not picked up on March 13^th will not be distributed at this time.  Parents and students will not be allowed to enter the building, I’ll bring them to your car.

Parents will drive up to the bus lane on Francis Street near the preschool door (door 4) on Tuesday, May 5th.  Please follow traffic rules and allow for distance between vehicles while the materials distribution is taking place. If your family has multiple siblings in our building, please indicate the names of the students so that you can make one trip.
