Thank you to my special volunteers on Thursday for out Peace Day rock painting.

Painting rocks with Daniel’s Dad and Jaffar’s Mom

Thank you to Layla Favor’s Mom, Ramy’s Mom, Anya’s Mom and Daniel’s Dad for volunteering to pop popcorn. We cannot do any of this without your help.

In second grade we learned about “benchmark measurements” where they use something like a pencil (that is about 20cm) and use it as a reference to estimate objects when we don’t have a ruler.

We all wrote another personal narrative and published our “Boo-Boo” stories. They will be displayed in the hallway for the month of October.

Reading groups are continuing and thank you for helping your children with the comprehension questions at the end of their books. Constructed responses are so beneficial in developing strong comprehension habits.

In social studies we are continuing with our Map skills, identifying North of, south of, east of, west of… Discuss with your child where Dearborn is in relation to other States, cities and landmarks around us. Also, please have your child learn their Address because we will be plotting mini maps next week.

Thursday, October 4th – Peace Weekend. Kids wear pink

Thank you and have a great day!!

DuVall families, Our students will be painting rocks with your help in preparation for our Peace Day Project. On Thursday, September 26, we are asking parent or guardian volunteers to contact me to help students with this project. During this time, students will get a kindness rock from the PTA and write a message of kindness on the rock with the support of the parent/ guardians volunteers. On October 3, our students will take their kindness rocks to the butterfly garden and place them so that their message of kindness can be viewed by anyone walking by! Thank you for your help and support.
