Power Hour

Power Hour is something new we will be incorporating into our teaching with the students.  It will be once a week on Tuesday mornings and involve Mrs. Ranka, Mrs. Courtright and myself.  Students from our 3 classes got to choose an “extra class” they were interested in being taught by one of the three of us.  The choices were Science Foodie, Reader’s Theater and Design & Build.  All students were given either their 1st or 2nd choice and will be in that class for the next 6 weeks on Tuesday mornings first hour.  We are hopeful that this will be a success.  We start with an introduction next week!  Feel free to chat with your child about what they are doing in their new “class”.

Homework

Tonight I would like the kids to google “types of energy” and be able to come to school with a little background. We are starting our new unit on light and sound.

Some examples are heat and wind etc.

They can write it down or they can orally share with me tomorrow.

Thanks!

Discovery Show

After watching the show for the past 20 min. it is not advised for our 3rd graders. I feel it is way to mature and sad. Maybe we could continue discussing how we can help the environment, and ways to protect our nature. Thank you for your continued support, I appreciate it.
