We will have a spirit day next Friday, October 19 for the Michigan vs. Michigan State football game. Your student can wear their team apparel that day. 🙂

Nowlin’s Garden action day is Monday. Dr. Tynan is encouraging staff and students to wear Nowlin shirts on Monday, if possible. The PTA has ordered new shirts which can be seen in the lobby showcase. Each shirt is $10. The PTA is having students who want to buy a shirt send $10 in an envelope to their classroom. If students bring an order in, please make sure student names and sizes are written on the orders and clip them together. Shirts will be delivered to our classroom before dismissal on Friday. Shirts are adult or youth up to XXL.  Thanks for supporting the PTA and for showing Bandit Pride!!!

Our first collection of Box Tops and Coke lids is due this Friday, October 12th. Please send them in with your child. 🙂

PARENT MEETING TOMORROW:
September 27 (3:45 only) Healthy Community and Playworks
Representatives from Wayne State and Playworks will be on hand to explain the Healthy Community Grant that we are a part of this year and to introduce parents to the Playworks program that is being implemented school wide.

It is finally Fall! Hopefully the temperatures will reflect this change of seasons soon. We continue to work hard in Room 1!

Wednesday, October 3: PTA meeting – 7 pm in the cafeteria

Friday, October 12: 1/2 day of school – dismissal at 11:45 am (no lunch served)

Friday, October 19: Fall Fest

Tonight is Open House from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. I hope to see you all there! The book fair will be open!

Tomorrow is a 1/2 day of school. Students will be dismissed at 11:45 am.

Next Wednesday, September 19th will be late start, with school starting at 9:35 am.

Your child brought home information about our first field trip. We are going to Plymouth Orchard and Cider Mill on Monday, October 1st. Please return the permission slip and $ as soon as possible. The cost is $7.50 per person (students AND chaperones).

We are off to a wonderful start in Room 1! The students are getting into the routine of our classroom. We are working on creating a welcoming, friendly, hardworking classroom community. I am so glad to be your child’s teacher.

We have a new paraprofessional this year. Her name is Ms. Cheryl. She is a wonderful addition to our room.
