Attention 5th grade parents!
O.L. Smith PTSA Meeting Tonight – May 14th at 6:30pm
Incoming 6th grade O.L. Smith parents are invited to attend the final PTSA meeting of the year tonight in the Smith media center at 6:30 pm. You can hear about some of the great initiatives and projects that are going on at Smith, and you’ll have a chance to get the pulse of the school from administration, teachers, and current board members. You don’t need to be a current PTSA member to join us. Everyone is invited to attend!
Busy week in Room 1!
We have a busy week!
- Book fair: the buy-one-get-one free book fair runs this week. Some students will bring home a wish list today. If you would like your child to purchase books, please send in money this week.
- Late start: Wednesday, May 15 is late start. School starts at 9:40 am.
- PTA meeting: our next PTA meeting is Wednesday, May 15 at 6 pm. Please join us! Elections for next year will be held.
- Field trip: our field trip to Heritage Park Petting Farm is Thursday, May 16th. Please check the weather, and dress your child accordingly, as we will be outdoors for most of the trip.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!
As of now, we do not have enough volunteers to open the book fair during school hours or to run the stations for the Bandit Dash. Please sign up if you are able. Thanks!
Duvall Veterans Project
Dear Dearborn Public Schools Community,
Our annual Veteran’s Hospital trip is scheduled for Friday, May 10th. This is a wonderful experience for both our students and parents, one that we all look forward to. The success of this field trip relies on everyone’s help and community efforts to make it such a rewarding experience. We will need parent volunteers to pick up fruit, cut cellophane, cut ribbons, fill the baskets, and drive the baskets to Veteran’s Hospital. The schedule will be as follows:
Wednesday, May 8th: pick up cases of fruit from stores, markets, etc.
Thursday, May 9th: fill the fruit baskets all day
Friday, May 10th: deliver the fruit baskets
This will be a busy time, but the more community members that become involved the more successful this trip will be. Please use the Sign-Up Genius below to volunteer.
