Hello, wonderful families. Since the governor’s announcement closing schools for the rest of this school year, the district has been formulating a plan for how to best educate all of our students.
For our special education students, this plan may include sending home packets for students to complete. For my students, this process will begin next week. Your child will receive either an electronic or printed version of work that covers both the academic standards we are working on, as well as your child’s IEP goals. The first packet will be printed next Wednesday, April 22. I will be communicating with each family regarding completing the packets, as well as how to return and/or discuss them with me once they are completed.
In addition, each of my students will have a contingency plan. This is a plan to meet your student’s needs that have been outlined in their IEP. Obviously, since we are not physically at school, the IEP implementation will look different. The contingency plan addresses these differences. I will be reaching out to each family to complete their child’s plan, in coordination with all support staff.
Thank you for your support during these challenging times. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. Otherwise, please expect to hear from me within the next week, to finalize your child’s contingency plan and to address any concerns about the learning plan.
Stay safe! Mrs. Moorhaus
