So, the best laid plans sometimes fall through! Our field trip to the Michigan Science Center was VERY unexpectedly cancelled today (I am working on rescheduling and will let you know immediately when we have a date).

Thanks to the quick thinking and flexibility of the wonderful office staff here at DuVall, Mr. Attee, and the fabulous parent chaperones who attended today, we made a fast call and were able to take the kids bowling at Ford Lanes.

Here are some pictures from our adventure. The kids had a lot of fun and truly impressed me with their bowling skills – there were so many spares and strikes!

So I feel the lesson we all learned today is that when life gives you lemons, make lemonade!

This Friday we are going to the Michigan Science Center in Detroit across from the DIA. It will be an exciting day of learning and exploring!

If you have signed and paid to be a chaperone, then meet us in the lobby at 9:00 on Friday morning. I will have your group assignments and schedule for you at that time. Thank you for supporting our adventure!

If your child sent in a permission slip, then today begins our 4th grade STEM club meetings. We will be engineering solutions to some fun problems. We end promptly at 4:30 so please be at the gym lobby doors at that time.

Tomorrow is our snack party at 10:30. If you signed up to send in supplies please have them to our classroom before 10:30.

The school sing-a-long is at 2:30 in the gym. Everyone is invited to join us as the kids perform songs they have learned in music class as well as singing holiday favorites together.

The students had a wonderful trip to the Detroit Institute of Art on Friday. Here are a few pictures of some of the activities we did with our docent.

Next Friday we have many special things happening. We will hear the telling of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas with Mr. Berry. Then we will have a “snack” party to celebrate the season. In the afternoon we have our annual sing-a-long and concert at 2:30 in the gym. You are welcome to join us for any and all of the fun!

Thursday – ugly sweater day (or sweatshirt or t-shirt)

Friday – red and green day – to be ready to sing at the song-a-long/concert in the gym at 2:30.
