So they shouldn’t stay up until the end of the game
( I know I won’t be staying up that late on a school night).
Have fun, be safe, and enjoy the commercials!
Here is our annual opportunity to help children who are sick with cancer. Your children are bringing home collection boxes tonight to start collecting whatever change (or paper money) they can collect. Encourage your child to do some extra chores to earn money. Please see the letter that is also being sent home that has all the information. The top class in donations will win a pasta lunch from Olive Garden (my class won last year and it was delicious!). Please click on the link below if you would like to make your donation online. Thank you for supporting this wonderful cause!

Your child’s second report card was sent home today. Please review the report with your child. Also, please sign the white letter attached to the report card for your child to return on Monday (they earn Moon money for this). Keep the yellow report card at home for your records.
The reading and math levels on the report card are from the fall NWEA test back in September. We are in the process of taking the winter NWEA and those results will be on the next report card.
Several students were given permission slips to participate in tutoring with me on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I am changing the times from before school to after school. I will meet with the selected students from 3:40 – 4:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning next week! I will focus on reading strategies to build comprehension. If your child received a note please return it by Monday, January 27th. I will send another copy home on Monday for those who may have lost it. Thank you!
Several students received permission slips to attend before school tutoring in either math, reading or both. Please ask your child if he/she received one so that you may sign the permission slip and have it returned by Friday. Tutoring begins next week!
Permission slip and $10 is due tomorrow for the field trip to the see the musical Dogman. This trip is only part of the day – not a full day, so all students need to come to school on Wednesday, March 18th whether they attend the trip or not.
The new permission slip for the Michigan Science Center is due Friday. It is free for all the students, but is $10 for any chaperones that wish to join us. That trip is on Tuesday, February 4th.
This week’s skill is the /al/ sound:

This Friday immediately following the pledge (8:50), Mr. Attee will be hosting a discussion time in the media center. The main topic for Friday is the NAEP test that some of your children will be taking on February 12th. We sent home a letter explaining that all 9 years olds in DuVall will be participating. If you would like more information about the test then please join Mr. Attee this Friday.
