Planting Day

It’s Planting Time!

Dear families,

As part of City Beautiful and our Green School Initiative, Haigh will be honoring the Earth with our Annual Planting Day on Friday, May 20. For this event, we are asking each student to bring a potted flower to school on this day. For this event students will be planting their flowers in one of the school’s garden areas. Planting will take place by grade level. Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for this event, as we will be outdoors and working with soil. We are all very excited, and looking forward to helping the Earth, and keeping our City Beautiful.
Thank you for your continued support!

1st Grade Market Day

Lets support the 1st graders! Here is a letter from them:

You’re Invited!

Please come and join the first graders as we celebrate the ending of our Economics unit with Market Day! Market day is all about determining wants and needs, producing goods and services and trading. Family and friends are invited to help celebrate the world of producers and consumers by shopping at our market from 9am-11am on Thursday, April 7th. All goods will range from .10 cents to $1.00. All Haigh students will have the opportunity to shop at our market, so if your child would like to purchase something, please send them to school with their money. Hope to see you Thursday!

Thanks for your support,

Google slides!

Over the past few weeks we have been working with Mrs. Greco’s class on Google slides presentations! It was so much fun having the fourth graders as teachers! Now we can make our own Google slides.

Don’t forget to collect!

Don’t forget to collect your change for charity! The directions said to collect it in a water bottle however the students told me the quarters won’t fit. You can cut a slit in the top like a piggy bank or just collect it in whatever you want! All the money we collect will go towards getting hats for the Children’s Hospital. On Thursday, January 11, have your student bring in all the change they have collected and as a third grade team we will be rolling change. We will even be having someone from the bank teach the kids how to roll and talk to them about saving money!

After we roll the change, we will have a small Valentine’s celebration where students will decorate a bag and pass out Valentines. We have 26 students in our class. It goes WAY quicker and easier if Valentines are not labeled with names and student can just pass them out. Then, we have a 4 day weekend!!

Thank you for all of your support at home!

January PBIS

PBIS Celebrations
Dear Families,

On January 29 we will be having a PBIS celebration to recognize your child’s positive behavior. This month’s celebration theme will be GAMES! Your child may bring board games or electronics to school.

Please label everything with your name. This celebration is an opportunity for students to have fun and play games with each other. However, if you are concerned about an item being shared with other students we recommend that it stays at home.
Thank you,
Haigh PBIS Committee
