Homework and Announcements for the week:

Math: Today we will start our first Module for Math. Students will be learning all about Place Value. Please check out the Parent Tips for Eureka Math on my blog. Homework will be written in their planner everyday.

** MATH HOMEWORK EXPECTATION: Students will have homework during the week (1 to 2 problems a night), plus they will need to finish 2 Lessons a week on Zearn. All students should have their login information for Zearn in the front of their planner. Students will have a little time to do Zearn at school, but this can be mostly done at home. The goal is for students to learn how to manage their time with their homework throughout the week. Students can feel free to do more lessons throughout the week, but I am only requiring two lessons per week on Zearn** (Zearn does work on Ipads and computers. If you do not have one, please contact me.)

Spelling:  We will start next week, due to the short week.

Reading: 20 minutes, reading log is coming home today. Reading logs are due on September 30!

This year all 4th graders will have 3 teachers: Mrs. Greco for Math fluency and Science, Ms. Cronin for Social Studies and Informational Writing, and I will be teaching Math, plus reading and writing for my class only!

Today we continued getting to know each other by playing “Flamingle”, we had a cup challenge to build teamwork with the other fourth grade classes, we started to build up our reading stamina, and we created a set of classroom rules.

Summer Birthday Students! If you would like to bring in a treat for a summer birthday (June, July, or Early August Birthdays), please bring it on Thursday!

Students NEED A PACKED LUNCH for tomorrow! Please pack it in a paper bag or Ziploc bag with the student’s name and teacher name on it. 

Tomorrow ‘s weather is mostly cloudy with a high of 76 degrees. Please have students wear appropriate clothing for the weather this includes tennis shoes. Also, please have students put on sunscreen before coming to school. Students may bring equipment or games to play with while we are at the park. We do not want students to bring any thing hard this includes baseball bats and balls.

Students who are bringing food or drink donations, please bring them to school in the morning, or meet us at the park around 9:30 am to drop off the items. 

Tomorrow should be a great day!

Families please take a look around your houses to see if you can find any books from my classroom. The books usually have my name on it and/or the reading level. If you find any books, please return them to me by Friday!
