Homework for November 6-10

Welcome to the Second Marking Period!

Homework:

Math: Math page every day. All pages must be completed before Friday.

Reading: Reading 30 minutes a night. Reading logs keep student accountable for their reading at home. Please make sure to sign the reading log throughout the week.

Spelling: Get to 30 menu. Students should be doing one spelling activity a night to help them prepare for their test of Friday.

4th Grade Social Studies: Students must have their interview questions submitted on November 9th.

Weekend News

No homework for the weekend, but your child should be reading everyday for at least 30 minutes 🙂

Reminders:

  • Marking Period 1 ends today
  • Marking Period 2 Starts November 6th
  • Conferences start next week on November 9th from 4:00 to 7:00. Students are bringing home a reminder slip to get signned. Please email me if you can not make it to your time and we will reschedule.
  • Spirit wear forms are due on November 6th
  • No School on November 7th
  • Canned Food Drive still going on until November 17th. BRING CANS IN 🙂
  • Book Fair starts on November 13th and ends on November 17th.
  • No school on November 22nd, 23rd, and 24th

Canned Food Drive Challenge!

 

Dear Room 6 Parents,

The school is hosting their annual School Wide Canned Food Drive this year from November 1st to November 17th.  Our class made a goal of 200 cans to be turned in by November 17th! If each student brings in 10 canned goods (including me), then we will make our goal. The prize for meeting our goal will be a pizza party on November 21st.

Students can collect these canned food items by going house to house asking for donations or asking family members and friends.

Here is the list of acceptable non-perishable items that your child can donate.

  • Canned pumpkin
  • Canned yams
  • Cranberry sauce
  • Instant mashed potatoes
  • Rice
  • Broth (chicken or beef)
  • Cans or jars of Gravy
  • Boxed stuffing
  • Macaroni and Cheese
  • Pasta and Pasta Sauce
  • Canned tuna or salmon
  • Canned chicken or other meats
  • Canned beans
  • Canned soups and stews
  • Peanut butter and Jelly
  • Muffin/Cake/Brownie Mix
  • Apple Sauce
  • Cereal
  • Jell-O
  • Pudding Mix

Homework for Halloween Week

3rd Grade HW

** Please help your student manage their time with studying for test this week.

Reading: No reading log due too many tests this week.

Spelling: Use get to 30 menu to do spelling activities

Math: Math HW page on Monday and Wednesday Only! Starting on Wednesday students will bring home supplies to study.

Social Studies: Students have their study guides filled out with the correct answers. Students should use their study guide, notes from class, and worksheets from class to study for their Unit 1 Test on THURSDAY!

Science: Study guide went home today and will be due on Wednesday. We will review it during class. This test is very short (one page, two sided). The test will be given on Friday.

3rd Grade Parents ONLY: Tests Information

3RD GRADE PARENTS ONLY

Parents please be aware of the two study guides going home today. We will have a science and social studies test this week.

On Thursday, November 2nd, students will take the Social Studies Unit 1 Test. The study guide for this test is already corrected. Please study!

On Friday, November 3rd, students will take the Science Unit 1 Test. The study guide for this test will be due on Wednesday, November 1st. (We will go over it in class that day!

I expect the students to study at least 15 to 20 minutes a night for their tests.

Next Week is the last week for Marking Period 1

Next week is the last week of marking period 1 which means many unit tests are approaching.

3rd Grade will have a social studies and science test next week. The students are aware of these test coming up. There will be study guides going home on Monday for those test. The 3rd grade teachers and I are working on an exact date that the test will be given. I am personally aiming for Thursday, November 2nd.

3rd and 4th Grade Students have their Unit 2 Test on Friday, November 3rd. This will cover addition, subtraction, odd and even numbers, line plots and measurement. Please check out Khan Academy or any of the videos on my blog to review these topics with your child. The study guide will be going home Thursday.

Halloween is next week, too! We will be doing fun activities all day long! The parade is at 2:30 pm on October 31, 2017. Parents are welcome to come to the parade to check out all the awesome costumes. There are 19 students in our class. If your child would like to pass out a treat, please make sure to bring 19 items to school.
