Weather Report

Due to the severe weather predicted for this afternoon, (12/13/17) all after school activities will be cancelled in the Dearborn Public Schools. This includes athletics, childcare programs, adult and community education, building permits, and other events specific to individual schools.
All schools will remain open today and close at their regular time. Parents have the option to pick up their child early. Any student who is picked up by their parent or legal guardian will be given an excused absence. High school students will only be allowed to leave early if a parent or legal guardian contacts the school.
Normal bus routes will operate but may run late. All extracurricular busses for activities will be cancelled.

Happy December Families!

Homework includes:

Math: Math page for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We have a test on Friday on multiples, factors, multiplication story problems, and prime and composite numbers. The pretest will be sent home on Thursday.

Reading: 30 minutes a day along with filling out the reading log.

Spelling: Everyone will be receiving the same set of spelling words. As we get into Daily 5, it is important for students to understand word patterns. This week we are focusing on -ow ending words. This should be a tool to help them spell words.

Fun Holiday Homework

It is time to get in the holiday spirit!!

Now we would like to wrap our lockers in holiday wrapping paper. We are asking each student to cut a piece of holiday wrapping paper that is 10 inches wide and 59 inches long. Please bring it in on Monday. Then we will tape it to their locker. Having the student work on measuring the paper is another way to practice a math skill. Here is a sample of last year’s lockers.

This week we are going back to work which means back to homework.

Math: Math page everyday. We are starting a new unit of multiplication today. In this unit, the students will solve multiplication facts fluently, interpret data, solve number stories and practice number sentences/open sentences.

Spelling: Get to 30 Menu, students should be studying their spelling words everynight

Reading: 30 minutes a night along with filling out the reading log

Two day before Thanksgiving!

Goodmorning Room 6 Families!

This week the students have no spelling homework. The only homework for the students will be to study tonight for their math test tomorrow. We will be going over their pre-test today in class and they will bring it home tonight.

For lunch tomorrow, I will be providing the class with pizza because we raised 223 cans for the Canned Food Drive. I am incredibly proud of my students for going beyond and above our class goal. If students want to bring their lunch too, that is fine with me.
