Parents, we are almost done with the month of April, which means we are almost done with poetry month! The students in Miss Vuichard’s class will be participating in a Poetry Slam on Monday, April 30th!
Students were given a poem yesterday to start memorizing for their performance. This will be a graded assignment for speaking. The goal for the students is to be expressive and creative in their movement of poetry. Students may bring in props to use while saying their poem.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email me.
I will be recording each performance to make as a class video. I will post this video on the blog and class dojo later next week.
Please come and join the first graders as we celebrate the ending of our Economics unit with Market Day! Market Day is all about determining wants and needs, producing goods and services and trading. Family and friends are invited to help celebrate the world of producers and consumers by shopping at our market from 9am-11am on Tuesday, April 24th. All goods will range from .10 cents to $1.00. All Haigh students will have the opportunity to shop at our market, so if your child would like to purchase something, please send them to school with money. Hope to see you Tuesday!
Thanks for your support,
The First Grade Teachers
