This Friday is a Half Day of School! Dismissal is at 11:45 a.m.

We will be taking our spelling test and science test on Friday, plus we have a presentation from DTE Energy at 9:45!

You don’t want to miss it!

As I check the weekly homework I am seeing a few concerns. Several of the students are not following the directions that are given for each section or only doing a part of the assignment. Since this work does not deal with any new learning, I use it for a writing grade to see if they can produce clear writing  for a specific purpose.

I have attached some pictures to show a few good examples for this assignment.

Homework and Announcements for the week:

Math: We are working on Subtraction and Story Problems with Subtraction. Please check out the “Daily Homework” tab on my blog for homework.

Spelling:  Spelling list will go home today. Students will be doing spelling activities throughout the week to get them ready for their test on Friday. 4 activities must be done on iLearn by Friday.

Reading: 20 minutes

4th Grade Weekly Homework Sheet: Complete one box each day. It will be collected on Friday for a homework grade.

Field Trip TOMORROW!

Please pack a paper bag or zip lock bag lunch with your child’s name, and teacher’s name on it (Student Name, Miss Vuichard)

We will be leaving school around 9 a.m. and we will be back at school 2:30 p.m.

*Chaperones* You can meet us at the Nature Center or come on the bus with us or follow the bus to the Nature Center. If you would like to follow the bus, then please wait by the office until we come down at 9 a.m. The students will come to the classroom first to get ready and do their morning work.

Please dress appropriately for the outside. We will be hiking and canoeing during this field trip. It will probably be muddy, so please wear shoes that can get dirty. I suggest wearing long pants, a shirt, a sweat shirt with a hood, and comfortable shoes.

An order form will come home with your child today in regards to purchasing this “Haigh 4th Grade Rocks” shirt.  The 4th grade team thought it would be nice to have matching shirts for field trips and big events at school.  If you are interested in purchasing one for your child or yourself, please send the order form and money back in by October 29th.
