Good morning,

As we wake up this morning with this extended school closure, I wanted to reach out with an update about what our plans are academically during this time. We will still be covering material while we are out of school in order to keep on track. Students and parents should be checking the Google Classroom page and blog for regular assignments and updates. We will be using these sites for practice while at home:

Zearn, Freckle, Readworks, IReady, Scholastic, Mystery Science, and RazKids

It is also important that students are reading EVERY DAY while they are at home, for at least 30 minutes. I know it may be stifling to be stuck at home during this time, but please remember to be reading. Take this time to read a book together as a family, or ask engaging questions about what your child is reading.

Students will also be required to complete assignments for their specials teachers. For this, they need to enroll in the Google Classroom course for those teachers. When they go to Google Classroom, they need to just click the + in the corner, and type in this code: qokhu2g .

If internet connectivity is an issue during this time, Comcast is also offering resources. Please visit this link to learn more: https://www.wxyz.com/news/national/coronavirus/comcast-offering-internet-essentials-package-free-for-60-months-during-coronavirus-outbreak

If I can help in any way during this time, please do not hesitate to reach out. Send pictures of things that you are struggling to help teach and I will help in any way that I can. Use Dojo, Remind, email, anything. We are in this together. Please stay safe, reach out with any questions, and let the students know that I am thinking about them.
