NWEA testing will begin today and go throughout the week. We are starting with the science test.

Study Island each day for 30 minutes
Social Studies study guide is up on Google Classroom with the answers we worked on today. Please have your child look over it this weekend. The test will be on Wednesday.
We will start our NWEA testing on Monday with Science. Make sure your child gets to bed early and eats breakfast!

Thursday Homework:
Study Island for 3o minutes. If for some reason this does not work they can go on Zearn.
We will be having a Social Studies test next week Wednesday. I have put a study guide on Google Classroom, please have your child work on the study guide tonight using the 2 books either on paper or on a google doc. We will be going over the study guide tomorrow so they will have time to study over the weekend.
Spelling: Practice Test. Spelling test is tomorrow.
Read 30 minutes. Please encourage your children to read with you or an older sibling and after they have read to you ask them questions about what they have read. This will help them with understanding what they are reading.

This week will be reviewing where we left off before break. I will also begin DRA tests.
The NWEA window has opened. We will be testing some time next week, but I will let you know specific days at the end of this week. Remind your children to get to bed early and to keep reading! 🙂
There is a program called Study Island that they will be working on. This is a lot like NWEA tests so it is very helpful for them. We worked on it during the day today as well so they should know exactly how to get on. If they have any problems I told them to do Zearn instead.

Tomorrow is our holiday party. Friendly reminder to email me if you plan on coming or are planning on sending anything in with your child. It starts at 11:30 and will end at 1:30. Thank you!
We will also have our Secret Santa reveal tomorrow. Please try to have your child put their gift that they made for their Secret Santa in a bag.

Spelling: Test Friday
Week 16
We have our class holiday party on Friday, December 21st, at 11:30-1:30. We will be providing a pizza lunch for the students as well as crafts and a movie. I let the students know that they are welcome to bring in goodies for their classmates as long as there is enough for everyone. We have 23 students 🙂 Parents if you would like to join us or help with crafts please email me! We would love to have you!
Last Friday each student picked a secret Santa. On Friday we will have our reveal as well as the gift that was made for them. The rule is that they cannot buy anything, they must make it, but please no food.

Math Lesson 14
Read 30 minutes. Please talk to your child about what they are reading. This helps them understand what they are reading.
We are doing a Secret Santa. Each student picked from a hat and they have to make something for the person they picked. This does not mean buying anything, I made it very clear that they must make something. For example, they could make a nice Christmas card, a bracelet, something out of paper. Let them be creative! It is the season of giving and being kind so we are using this as an opportunity for that.
We will be having our Christmas party on December 21st at 11:30-1:30. I will have more information on that this weekend.
