Good evening Oakman Families!
This week, there are some new updates with teaching and learning! Every Monday I will be posting a math lesson and a reading lesson on our Google Classroom. Below I have explained in detail what is expected of students throughout the week.
Math: You will watch a lesson and then each day you will will have practice problems that I give you. We will begin on Lesson 17 so if you are not caught up on Zearn now is the time to catch up.
Reading: we will be using Benchmark from now on. Every Monday I will be posting a mini lesson of myself teaching you. Throughout the week there will be worksheets with questions that go along with Unit 6. These will be on Google Classroom in the Benchmark tab.
We will continue our Novel Study. I am so glad you are all enjoying it! I love reading to you each day, even if it is virtually. 🙂 Remember the two documents posted in google classroom that you should be filling in as you read. One of the documents is for any words you do not understand throughout the text.
Remember to continue reading everyday, there are new Benchmark books assigned to you.
Writing: We will be continuing to complete our writing prompts. When you complete your writing make sure to send me a picture (either to my email or ClassDojo). Reread your writing and have at least 5-7 complete sentences.
Social Studies: Every Monday and Wednesday you will have a Social Studies assignment through your Michigan Open Book on Google Classroom. Open up the assignment posted for that day and complete the stop sign questions on the google document. Once you have completed the stop sign questions, turn it in into google classroom. Just like we did in the classroom.
Science: Every Monday you will get a new Mystery Science. You DO NOT have to complete the activities, just make sure you watch the videos and complete the assessment posted on Google Classroom, then click turn in.
Spelling: Practice your words throughout the week and complete your spelling tests every Friday.

We will have our weekly Whole Class Hangout from 3:00-3:30 starting Monday.
Remember to continue to keep working hard and showing me all of your progress. I am keeping track of who is completing their assignments and who is not. I am so proud of you all!!!
