Reminders: Dads- we still need some more supplies for Muffins for Moms that is coming up! I have a volunteer bringing napkins, but we still need plates, water, and juice! ( I am making the muffins) Please let me know if you can bring any of these items in!

Spelling test will be on Thursday this week since we do not have school on Friday.

I sent out a note on class dojo, but I am looking for volunteers tomorrow at 10:15 for a writing activity. If you can make it, please let me know! We need all the help we can get!

** Please make sure your child is completing their nightly literacy homework and returning it colored and signed on Mondays. It is a very important step in order to prepare them for first grade.

Language Arts: We will be working on author’s purpose, initial/ending sounds, and blends this week. We will be learning that author’s write to Entertain or to Inform us. Ask your child this week after they read a story if they know why the author wrote it (to entertain or to inform). In writing, we are starting our informational research writing! I will need some parent volunteers to come in a couple of days to assist in the researching process. Please reach out to me if you are interested/available. Please keep practicing sight words and personal words at home!

Math/Science/Social Studies: We will be doing lessons 31-34 this week in math. We are still decomposing with number bonds. Please continue to do the nightly homework that follows each lesson. You can access the Eureka math website or use the parent tip sheet to help if needed.
In science, we are starting a new unit. We will be learning about living/non-living things. This week we will learn about desert animals and what they need to survive. In social studies, we will be moving into our last unit. This unit is all about public issues. We will be learning about voting and the constitution this week!
