Report cards-They will be sent home as soon as we return back to school. Please sign the envelope and return the blank envelope back to school!

Language Arts- Please had your child fill out their nightly literacy activity sheet. I will collect them every Monday (Tuesday this week). Our class goal is that everyone turns in their homework weekly! We have completed our first spelling test! The children were sent home with their new list in their spelling notebooks on Friday (unless they forgot their reading bag or spelling notebook at home). Missed personal words will be on their test again this week followed by our new pattern (-an). Please make sure spelling notebooks and reading bags are brought to school daily!!

Math- We have just completed Module 3 up to Lesson 18. Please continue to use words at home like longer/shorter, heavier/lighter, etc. to keep the information fresh. Please continue to work on the nightly practice homework. Our goal is to finish lessons 19-22 this week.

Science/Social Studies- In Science, we have just completed out first experiment of ice melting! We will be using artificial light this week (because of winter) to finish our sunlight explorations. We shared timelines this week for Social Studies and they are proudly hanging in the hallway! Students did a great job presenting and putting their posters together:)! We are now starting geography with discussions on where we live. We are starting with our home, classroom, and moving to the world. By the end of this unit, it is important for students to learn their address and phone number, so please practice as much as you can at home!

Leader In Me
We will be reviewing the first 3 habits, Be Proactive- you are in charge of you, Begin with the End in Mind- have a plan, Put First things First- work, then play.  Don’t forget to worry about your circle of control- only take care of what you can take care of.  Please continue to use these phrase at home and be an example of using the 7 Habits in your own daily life.  Let this be a journey your whole family embraces!

Valentines Day is a great day to celebrate friendship.  We will not be having a party with parent volunteers,  but we will be having a treat and passing out Valentines. We will be celebrating on February 13th however, because the 14th is a half day for students and some of the Kindergarten team will be at a training.  If you would like to volunteer to bring in the few items we need, please click the link below.  If your child chooses to make valentines to pass, please remember we have 18 children and have a valentine for everyone. If you are attaching a treat, no nuts of any kind please.  I am also including a few items we will need for the 100th day of school.  More information to come on that exciting event  Thank you for all signing up!!!
