Good Morning,

This is our Zoom link: https://dearbornschools-org.zoom.us/j/87617757499?pwd=eTlLbDNHSVE2b0tRQXF6dTJNSU5PQT09

We will use the same link everyday! It is posted on Google Classroom too. Students can only join at 8:55 when I am on- see you then!!

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to share some information with you about our first day of school and what will be expected of students:

On Monday, August 31st, there will be a chance for students to pick up their materials that they need for online learning. Upper el will pick up their materials on the upper el playground. Only the child and ONE parent should be coming to pick up their things in order to adhere to the safety guidelines. If you cannot attend the times for pickup, please contact the office.

There are the times for pickup:
(Last names A-E) 9:00-10:00
(Last names F-M) 10:00-11:00
(Last names N-Z) 11:00-12:00

While students are not picking up materials, there will be a couple activities posted on Google Classroom for them to work on. I sent a Google Classroom invitation to your child’s gmail account. If you cannot join that way, our class code to join is: thi3en7
Make sure to be logged into a student account to join the class!

Here are the activities for students that will be posted on Google Classroom for Monday:
1. Watch my introduction video I have posted (you can learn more about me and I also explain the next activity)
2. Complete the All About Me Slide (so we can learn more about you!)
3. Watch my video of me reading aloud First Day Jitters
4. Comment below the assignment telling me how you feel on your first day of school!

The video links and activities will be on Google Classroom. I will also post the video links on here too. Make sure you are on a student account to watch the videos (otherwise they may not give you access). You can only access the All About Me Slide activity on Google Classroom.

If for some reason these links do not work, just find them on Google Classroom and they should be just fine!

I will be at the school for most of the day Monday. If you need help or want to ask me something, please email me at hullj@dearbornschools.org
I will try to get back to you right away!!

I am also going to attach our calendar for the rest of the week, so you can look ahead and know what is going on! (This calendar was also sent in the email I sent out)
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JxJpP_VCqz7h7RIFIKwm_GofpontitNM_QO0HWfnFik/edit?usp=sharing

Last but not least, we will be meeting on Zoom as a class for school on Tuesday. The school day will be 8:55-12:00 the first week. The first week is a lot about community building and expectations, so please prepare that your child will be on Zoom with our class for most of that time (given breaks and independent work time will also be within that time frame).

Again, I am available to answer any questions that you might have! I am excited to start the school year and I can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow!! -Mrs. Hull

HAPPY LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!

Here is our last day schedule:

11-1: I will be at Lindbergh waving goodbye to 5th grade as they pick up their promotion bags.

3:00- We will have our virtual class end of year party!!
– It will be on Big Blue Button
– I am hoping everyone can join!
– I have a video that I made to share with students
– I have awards to virtually give out
– We are sharing riddles, jokes, stories (one of our favorite pastimes in the classroom)

Please send me an email or message if your child cannot join the virtual class end of the year party!

Also- on a different note, these last few months have put all of us behind. It is recommended to continue to do some reading and math practice over the summer so you will be prepared for 5th grade. Therefore, I have create this letter that contains a list of activities you can do over the summer!

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1tLnzZgMozwrKRWI–25MOELldZDDbI72pWiUtcptcVY/edit?usp=sharing

I will see you later on today and enjoy your well deserved summer!!
-Mrs. Hull

First a foremost, thank you all for being so flexible and understanding during this big change and end of the school year! I couldn’t have done it with you!!

Here are some important things I wanted to communicate to you:

* Report Cards are submitted. They will be mailed to your homes! Here is how Dearborn Schools and Lindbergh Staff have calculated report card participation:

M – Meeting Grade Level – All or most work was turned in.

P – Progressing – Some work was turned in.

LP – Limited Participation – Very few or no work was turned in.

*Throughout the last 7 weeks, I have kept a spreadsheet of submitted work. This is what I based the Weekly Progress Reports on that I would send out Friday.

*Due dates were given for each assignment, however if something was turned in the week following a Progress Report, I counted it.

*This was an extraordinary time for all of us! I would never expect 100% participation in these circumstances. I know some real sacrifices were made to help our kids, struggles were had, technology presented challenges, and we were all trying to stay safe and healthy! I really believe that most students did the best they could, and I am proud of the efforts of all of your families to help out! Please don’t feel “disappointed” if your child does not get all M’s. This report card will obviously have the asterisk* next to it with COVID 19 labeled. This card marking is more of a record keeping for us and a way to look ahead to the best practices for everyone when all of you return to school in the Fall.

Lastly, I will be at the school tomorrow during the 5th grade pick up that parents have coordinated. I will be there anywhere from 11:30-1:30. I wanted to let you know- many parents were asking. You are welcome to drive by the school if you would like to wave goodbye, I would love to see you!!

We will still be doing our final virtual classroom celebration tomorrow though and I can see you that way too! It will be at 3:00! Please message me if that time does not workout for your family. I would like to get as many students on as I can!!

Thank you for such a wonderful school year and I will see everyone next year around the school!
