Happy Easter Everyone!! I hope everyone enjoys their last day of Spring Break:)
I am going to post the calendar so you can take a look at how next week will go. There are a few changes that I made, but a lot of it is still the same routine. Math and reading have changed slightly. I am going to do more Google Hangouts with reading and we are going to start a class chapter book together. I will post all the specific details and directions on the blog Monday!
Again, I will remain flexible with assignments and please always communicate with me with any questions/concerns. I will have virtual office hours on Tuesday and Thursday too so students can ask for help! Things may change or adjust once Dearborn release their Remote Learning Plan. Until then, we are going to follow my weekly schedule!
The PTA is hosting an online book fair which runs April 8 through April 21. There’s a wide selection of materials for all ages—pre-K through high school—including books, educational workbooks, puzzles, arts and crafts, building sets, and more. Check out the “shop by grade level or age” feature.
Lindbergh earns 25% with every purchase when you click “Shop Now” from our webpage: https://www.scholastic.com/bf/lindberghflyers(The shopping will not be activated until April 8.) In order for our school to receive credit for your purchases, you must start from that specific book fair homepage (not a Scholastic Book Club or related site) and sign in. You do not have to be a Lindbergh parent to shop… so share with your friends!
All purchases ship directly to customers, with FREE standard shipping when you spend $25 or more (on books only – not the junky stuff).
Thank you for supporting our school and we hope that this opportunity to find new books provides some joy during this uncertain time. Keep reading, Flyers!
Hi Everyone! I just wanted to wish everyone a safe and healthy spring break! We will be on break from 4/6-4/10. That means that there will be no blog posts/assignments/emails for that time! I will be sure to post on Sunday (4/12) for a “week at a glance”, so you know what to expect when we return.
I hope you enjoy this time with family and really take the time to relax and enjoy the small moments- you deserve it!! You have been working hard with this online adjustment for the last three weeks and I am so grateful for the constant communication from you all.:) With that being said, I will contact you today through email if there is anything missing that your child has not yet turned into me before the break begins. I am very flexible and understanding at this time with work and assignments- I understand all of the juggling you need to do on a daily basis. I just want you to be aware and keep up the communication (it is easy to get lost in the list of assignments on Google Classroom).
Lastly, continue to look at Lindbergh’s blog. I know Mrs. Tiba said there will be a posting about report cards and information about how that will work. I know that they will not be mailed at this time, but you can access them through a different way. Check Lindbergh’s blog for instructions and directions on how to do that.
I enjoyed seeing all of the friendly faces today on Google Hangouts:) Mrs. Baloga enjoyed being able to say hi too! Have a great spring break. -Mrs. Hull

Make sure to be ready to share Clue #5 on the hangout today!!
During this spring break, take some time to relax, have fun, be with family! We will get back to work when break is over. Do not forget to read, read, read over break!! There is also EPIC, storylineonline, and Zearn available that you should be doing.
Happy Thursday! Just a reminder that everything we have been working on this week is due tomorrow! Next week is spring break and we will not be having any assignments then.
Spelling
-Today, just practice your spelling words on your own! Test will be open tomorrow on SpellingCity. Don’t forget that SpellingCity also does have a lot of fun games to practice.
Writing
-Continue to keep working on your famous person in history Google Slideshow! I have been getting some of them and they are looking great!! The slides are due in Friday.
Math
-We have another new math lesson today using fractions! Module 5 Lesson 2. Usually, I give them two days apart, but I didn’t want homework on Friday for Spring Break, so I am giving it today! Assignment: 1. Yesterday, you did see some improper fractions while adding fractions together. I put this video today to watch that can help explain mixed numbers/improper fractions. It is from Brainpop, so you would need to login using Username: hullroom207 Password: lindbergh2020 https://jr.brainpop.com/math/fractions/mixednumbers/ 2. Watch the lesson video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wD7ffX8GvAM
3. Try the homework. Must do: 1,2. Then, check with the answer key. 4. Do the problem set. Must do: 1,2. Send it to me. Due by Sunday. Keep in mind that you need to draw a tape diagram. You split the pieces of the tape diagram based on the denominator of the fraction. Shade the tape diagram to show the fraction. Then, use unit fractions to find the sum of the shaded fraction.
-Today you are going to be working on Clue #4 in Eggpocalypse!! You are doing a great job so far. This reading today has to deal with cause and effect. I have included a video on Brainpop to explain cause and effect first to help. Username: hullroom207 Password: lindbergh2020 https://jr.brainpop.com/readingandwriting/comprehension/causeandeffect/
Time to meditate today! Focus on your breathing. Take deep breaths. This is a lot to adjust to- you are doing it! You can do our own meditation/yoga or you can use one of these videos.
-Continue to work on your Google Slides about your famous person you have chosen. Once you are all done, hit the Share button (yellow at the top right) and type in my email. That is how you send it to me. hullj@dearbornschools.org Due Friday
Math
-We are going to be starting a new module today. We are not going to test as of right now for Module 4. I wanted to wait until after spring break before I do reviews and quizzes. I know everyone does not have the Module 5 book at home, but I will be posting the pages on here and Google Classroom to use. Assignment: We are learning about fractions!! Today is all about adding fractions together. We are only doing like denominators today. If the denominators are the same, you only add the numerator and leave the denominator the same. 1. Here is a review video on what a numerator and denominator is in a fraction. Most kids will know since they learn it in 3rd, but it is good to review the vocabulary! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTce7f6KGE0 2. Watch the lesson video
3. Work on the Homework. Must do: 1,2. Then check with the answer key 4. Work on the Problem Set. Must do: 1,2. Send it to me. Due Thursday
-Everyone is doing so well working on their clues and cross off suspects!! Assignment: 1. Today you are going to solve clue #3. 2. Tip: you are going to be looking for synonyms today. Synonyms are words we use to describe the same thing. For example: synonyms for funny could be humorous or comical. 3. You can send the clue to me when you are done or wait and send it all on Friday.
Reminder- Not a lot of us have been on Zearn this week. Your Zearn goal is to finish Module 4 and start on Module 5. If you are all caught up on Zearn, do Khan for the day instead.
Sharpen the Saw!
After these few cloudy and gloomy days, my challenge it to make someone smile! Write a letter or make a craft and send it to a friend or family member! I have gotten letters from my nieces and nephews and it brightened my day!
