Happy Tuesday Everyone!
Here is an important tip I wanted to remind you of this week:
** Some of you turn in your work by emailing it to me and that is fine. However, Google Classroom also needs you to hit the “turn in” button so it does not mark it as late. It may be easier if you transition and just start turning more things in on Google Classroom.**
Here is a look at today:
Spelling
-Instead of spelling, we are working on spell check this week. So far, I have only linked a video. There are no new assignments today. Tomorrow, I will have students do some spell check practicing.
Writing
-The schedule has been changed a little bit to help lessen the load this week.
-You still need to watch the video of Mrs. J and fill out the “Pick a Stance” worksheet by Wednesday. Also, make sure to read the articles and not just come up with your own ideas.
– There will be a new video on Thursday of what to do next. We will be working on this opinion writing for two weeks.
Math
-No new assignments today. Please send Module 5 Lesson 6 to me. Today is a Zearn day.
Reading
-I will be reading the next few chapters today in Wonder on Google Hangouts at 12:30! (Pages 20-33)
If you cannot make the reading lesson hangout today, I will record it and post it on Google Classroom. You need to answer the slides if you do not make it and turn it in to me. We answers all the slides together on Hangout.
Social Studies
-We are starting a new unit in Social Studies called Economics! We will have an assignment today to complete and one on Thursday.
Assignment:
1. Look at the vocab cards and definitions for this lesson I have attached.
2. One of the words we are learning are goods and services. Watch this Brainpop Video on it! https://jr.brainpop.com/socialstudies/economics/goodsandservices/

3. Read Section 1: What is Economics? in our online S.S. textbook (pg 56-58)

Make sure to try the interactive activities and videos in the book too! I especially like the School House Rock video.
4. Answer the “Stop and Think” questions on Google Docs that are from the section you read. Due Thursday
Reading Groups
I can tell there is a little confusion on reading groups this week. Make sure to read your WHOLE assignment on Google Classroom for your specific group.
I love that I see some students already on Raz Kids! It is a cool website. Some of you think that you need to just read a book for reading group. I have assigned a specific book I want you to read.
Your Raz Kids should look something like this. You need to find the spot where it says “Assignments” to see the book I assigned to you.
Here are the titles for each group.
Blue- No Raz Kids
Yellow- No Raz Kids
Orange- Curiosity on Mars
Green- Earthquakes, Volcanoes, Tsumanis
Red- World Cup Soccer

Sharpen the Saw!
We are going to look at Habit 8 this week, which is finding your voice. It is a combination of what your talents and passions are, what the need is around you, and what your concience is telling you to do.
