Today’s notes on adding and subtracting integers have been posted to google classroom. Please make sure you have all notes copied for tomorrows lesson. Quiz 2 retakes will be tomorrow after school if you have signed up with Ms. Harris.

We will begin lesson 3 tomorrow. Students that would like a re-take on quiz 2 that scored less than 70% can stay after school on Thursday. Please let Ms. Harris know so she can add you to the list.

Today’s quiz and study guide scores will be posted tonight/tomorrow morning. Frayer models were passed out after the quiz to go over key vocabulary from the last two units. The two words must be picked from the following list….

Absolute Value

Integer

Additive Inverse

Opposite

Frayer models need to include a definition, example, non example and picture or other notes about the term.

Frayer models will be due Tuesday October 1st.

Tomorrow will be our quiz for lesson 2. A study guide was given out today and answers can be found on google classroom. Friday is our field trip on the Diamond Jack in Detroit Michigan. 🙂

Today we began lesson 2 subtracting with integers. This is a short lesson and we are planning on having the quiz on Thursday for this lesson. We will be handing out a study guide on Wednesday to help study for the quiz. Like the last study guide, answers can be found on google classroom at the end of the school day Wednesday.

Students that scored less than a 70% on the first quiz may retake their quiz tomorrow right after school. Students must have transportation or parent permission to stay after. Please let Ms. Harris know if you are going to be staying after.

This week we are exploring how find the sum of two integers using a number line and additive inverse method. We will be providing a study guide tomorrow in class for our quiz on Thursday September 19th. Answers to the study guide will be posted to google classroom.

Just a reminder that September 20th is a half day as well as the day Khan minutes are due. 8 hours are needed of summer minutes.

Wednesday we will be finishing up the Math NWEA. Wednesday is also our Open House from 6:00-7:30pm. We hope to see you and your family. As a reminder you can still sign up for the remind app. Directions are on the blog under contacts.

We will begin NWEA math testing Monday-Wednesday next week. Each student will have different growth goals however, the average RIT score for fall is 231. Please make sure you are here each day to complete your test.

Welcome to Mrs. McGrath and Ms. Harris’ 7th grade math class blog.  We are very excited to start this new year co-teaching together.  This first week back we will be spending time going over classroom routines and expectations as well as team building and get to know you activities.
