Due to the forecasted weather this week, we will be moving our K-1 Water Day to Wednesday June 14th. Please send in any items that you signed up for by Tuesday, June 13th.

For Water Day, please have your child wear comfortable clothing. They WILL get wet! Water Day activities will be in the afternoon starting about 2:00. They do not need to bring any clothes to change into since we will be going home after. You can send in a towel if you’d like. We can’t wait!

For kickball today…

You do NOT need to enter the building and sign in. Please go right to the kickball fields. We will be in the same area that we played last year. (Behind our wing of the school.) We will be on FIELD 4 so once you walk around the building, we will be about in the middle. There are 7 fields total. (Field 1 is near the track on the Houston side and field 7 is near the soccer field on the Culver side.)

We will start at 2:15 so please plan to arrive a little before then.

We are trying to eliminate chaos in the office so PLEASE do not enter the school. Wait for your child and their class at the designated area. We appreciate your support.

This week and next…

Good afternoon! I know there is a lot going on and I apologize! It’s a crazy time of the year for everyone!

Here is a quick run-down for the next 2 weeks:

Kickball Forms are DUE TODAY!

If you did not send in your RSVP for kickball today (Yes or No we need the forms please!), please bring it with you at dismissal. We have to have a count to order pizza. If your child did not bring home a note, I will have some at dismissal. Cost is $5 per child. (Not per person, just $5 for your child). I appreciate it!

Tomorrow is the big day!!

Are you ready for the Detroit Zoo? Or should I ask if the Detroit Zoo is ready for us?!?!

Please remember to dress for the HOT weather! Hats, sunglasses and sunscreen are recommended.

Your child does NOT need to bring their backpack tomorrow.

Please make sure they have a FULL lunch in a disposable bag along with a disposable water bottle. They will be carrying their lunch at the zoo so a plastic bag (like a Target/Walmart/Kroger bag) is the easiest way. Please label it!

We took our VERY LAST spelling and dictation test today! Woohoo! I sent both their spelling test book and their dictation sentence book home today. They are theirs to keep. Please take a second to look through the dictation book and you will see how far they all have come this year. I am so proud of them! Oh, and today’s spelling test does not count. 🙂 It was a super short week and I didn’t think it was fair to “grade” it.

I will see you all in the morning!

Let’s Play Ball!

(and have a picnic!)

On Wednesday, June 7th at 2:15pm the Kindergarten and First Grade Classes will be hosting a family kickball tournament and picnic. Each class will be divided into two groups to play against each other. Parents will be joining their child’s class to play. We are looking to promote good sportsmanship and just plain old fashioned fun. After playing one game of kickball, we will all gather for a celebratory picnic. Pizza and water will be served. We are asking for a donation of $5 per student (yes, younger siblings are welcome.) Also feel free to bring your own snacks to enjoy with your family. Don’t forget to bring your blankets/chairs!

To RSVP for this fun event please fill out and return the bottom portion of the form in your child’s folder by Monday, June 5th. .

*If you are interested in helping setup and/or clean up please reach out to your child’s teacher and let them know. We appreciate your support. *
