Wayne County Regional Enhancement Education Millage Proposal
School districts in Wayne County have placed a proposal on the November 8th ballot to provide added funding for our schools. It is the “Regional Enhancement Millage Proposal.”
If approved by the entire county, the 2 mil proposal will generate approximately $6.2 million from Dearborn but the District will receive $7.8 million in additional funding for our schools. Money would go to local schools starting this year and the millage expires after six years. Continue reading

Detroit Science Center Field Trip/Project Lead The Way Science
Mrs. Turk and I were notified Wednesday, November 2…
The Detroit Science Center is offering a discount for November 11. Of course, we had to take advantage of this discount:) The permission slip will be coming home tomorrow, Friday, November 4.
This field trip supports our new science program, Project Lead The Way. Mrs. Thomas, Mrs. Turk and I attended a twenty-four hour training last August at Eastern Michigan University. We are excited to bring this new, hands-on, science, technology and language arts program to Howard.
We began Project Lead The Way today. Ask your child about Energy: Collision.

Student Council Food Drive
Student Council Food Drive Begins November 7 thru November 22
Each class has a goal of 120 cans (4 cans per student).
Every class that meets the goal earns a reward (TBD).
One class will be randomly drawn from the rooms that reach the goal. That class will get a Yogurtopia gift card for each student.
