An Activity We Did in Class Today
All the people in the world are the same age this year. It’s Amazing! This year all the people in the world are in the same age group. This year is special! It happens only once every 1,000 years.
This year your age (that you have or will become in 2019) + your birth year = 2019.
Example: age 9 + 2010 (birth year) = 2019
Try it with your family! It’s Fun!

Dear Parents,
I would like to welcome you and your child to the fourth grade. We can look forward to many exciting and rewarding experiences as the year progresses.
Language Arts and Technology across the curriculum is a priority and will involve several Project Based Learning activities allowing students to express their creative talents. Some supplies will be provided.
The following organizational materials and supplies are optional but would be helpful to your child throughout the year:
school box (storage for pencils, markers, color pencils, etc.)
color pencils (mapping skills/social studies, language arts, projects, etc.)
think markers (language arts, projects, etc.)
liquid paper or white out (all subjects)
extra number 2 pencils
extra paper
glue stick
one-subject (100 pages) spiral notebook (math journal)
NOTE: We have limited space; therefore, it is preferred students do not bring Trapper Keepers/Large Binders.
If you would like to donate a box of Kleenex to our classroom, it would be greatly appreciated. In addition, students will need a read-to-self book and a healthy snack the first full day of school (Tuesday, August 27).
Your cooperation and assistance, throughout the school year, will be most appreciated.
Thank you,
Ms. Martin
