Welcome back to another amazing year.

For all students:

I hope we all had a great summer and are excited for a great new school year.

Welcome to Mr. Markiecki’s  Art  Class

7th 8th:

This year sketchbooks will be submitted in a new format, instead of a monthly submission we will be turning in sketchbooks bi-weekly. Each sketchbook will consist of 6 hrs. The content of your sketchbook is still your choice, however the points will not be valued at 100 pts. but smaller amounts so they do not weigh as heavy on your grade.

For new coming 6th graders:

Students will need to purchase or make a sketchbook,  the sketchbook will be used as both a learning tool and a way for the students to express their creativity.
The max size of a sketchbook needed is 9X12  and the smallest is 5X7. I would recommend the metal ring books over the glue bound, due to the glue breaking down over time and pages falling apart after time.

If you are planning on using both graphite, paints or markers I would suggest Multi or Mix Media paper, this type of paper is design to be used with all types of art mediums.

Sketchbooks can be found at Walmart, Meijer, Target, Blick art in dearborn off michigan Ave. , Jo Ann Fabric and Michaels.  prices range from $5- $15.

Author:

I have been an artist for over 25 years, my main focus has been in illustration and comic art style. I have been teaching for 5 years, I have my degrees from Wayne State University both in BFA( Bachelor of Fine and Preforming Arts, and a MAT( Masters of Art and Teaching) . I believe that art can close the gap in communication where words can't be spoken art takes over. The success and exploration art allows students to achieve breeds confidence and joy that will carry over to other aspects in life.
