Dear Parents,

There are a few reminders for this week:

1. We will be going on our end of the year picnic on Tuesday! We will be at Ford Woods Park from 10:00-1:00.

2. All second graders will have summer homework to complete.

Ms. Shajira, our assistant principal, will be explaining the summer homework expectations for all students this week.

3. The PTA will be having a Father’s Day Sale on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in the cafeteria during lunch time.

Dear Parents,

This week, the second grade will finish the NWEA testing.

Please ask your child what score they achieved in both math and reading.

You should be able to find their score in their planner on the green page titled-My Learning Plan.

They have worked so hard all year long!

The NWEA Reading and Math test is coming very soon!

We will be testing the second graders at the end of the month. (Exact dates will given later.)

Please remember to encourage your child to practice on Exact Path and Zearn at least for 20 minutes every night.

Hello Parents,

Happy Spring! I hope all of you had a wonderful spring vacation!

This Wednesday, April 10, there will be parent teacher conferences.

These conferences will be for students who have academic and behavior concerns.

If you are uncertain about a conference, please ask your child’s teacher.

Dear Parents,

Literacy Night is this Thursday from 4:30-6:00!

There will be many fun literacy activities for all ages.

There is no admission cost; however, every child must be accompanied by an adult.

In addition, the Book Fair will be open on Literacy Night.

Students will be able to purchase books in the Media Center.

It will be an exciting night for all students!

Since March is Reading Month, our school is participating in a raffle called Bikes for Books.

Every time a student reads three books, he or she will receive a raffle ticket.

This ticket is placed in a basket with a chance to win a bike at the end of March.

Two bikes will be raffled at the end of the month, one girls bike and one boys bike.

Students have been very busy reading books and filling out tickets.

Please encourage them to read every night and keep track of their books on a reading log from their teacher.
